Nuremberg Chronicle

This page is from the Nuremberg Chronicle, published in 1493. The Chronicle is one of the most important incunabula, a term which refers to books printed before 1500. It is well-known for the way the text and images work together cohesively. The illustrations on this page show Ptolemy, Cleopatra, and part of the family tree of Herod, the Biblical ruler.
