Indiana War Memorial

Efforts to create an Indiana World War Memorial began in 1919, the same year the American Legion moved to Indianapolis. The largest building at the site, shown in the background of this postcard, was under construction from 1927 till 1965. Further memorials to World War II, Korea, and Vietnam have since been added.
