HMS Erebus and HMS Terror

The HMS Erebus and HMS Terror were both parts of the historic Ross Expedition to Antarctica from 1839 to 1843, shown in this 1863 painting. Both ships later disappeared as part of the infamous Franklin Expedition to the Arctic in 1848. The Erebus and Terror were not found until 2014 and 2016, respectively.
