Great White Fleet

Teddy Roosevelt sent a fleet of battleships across the world in 1907 to showcase American naval power. Nicknamed the “Great White Fleet,” it was composed of sixteen battleships. This aerial panoramic photograph shows the fleet traveling through the Golden Gate in San Francisco.
