Algiers

Algiers, the capital of Algeria, dates back to the tenth century, though a previous city called Icosium existed on the same site during the time of the Romans. From 1830 to 1962, Algiers (along with Algeria) was under French control, and this postcard shows the European influence on the city during this time.
